There was a big alcid die-off this winter, with large numbers of several species found moribund up and down the coast. Horned and Tufted Puffins and Rhinoceros Auklets seemed to be the dead species found in the greatest numbers.

There were low numbers of Aleutian Cackling Geese reported this spring. Late April/ early May shorebird migration peak numbers were much lower than last year. Blue-winged Teal reports were scarce on the south coast as they
