Steeping e-liquid is essentially placing it inside a cool and dark place within a certain amount of time. This way, the liquid’s aroma will develop or mature and for its better flavor to come out. Like wine, the e-liquid will taste better after some time.
The color of the e-liquid can become darker. Yet, this is only normal and will not cause harm to the e-liquid. Steeping e-liquid is not favored by all vapers, but most juices actually obtain better results after being steeped. Change in color is believed to be caused by the oxidation of nicotine. It is still a speculation and no one really knows why the color changes during steeping.
Time Is The Key
Different vapers follow different ways of steeping. Some would just leave their juices with cover while others will remove the cover. The key, however, is that the longer it sits, the better the resulting e-liquid flavor will be.
Time is crucial for the flavor components of the V2 e-liquid to blend well with other ingredients.
When Steeping Is Necessary
Normally, when juices are freshly made, they require steeping in order to bring out great flavors. If the seller or manufacturer of the e-juice said that you need to steep your juice, then it would really be best to follow instructions. This way, you can enjoy vaping with a much better tasting juice.
How Steeping Is Done
There are some easy steps to follow in steeping e-juices. Remove the cap first and then pull the dripping end from the container. Leave it closed and inside dark and cool place for about 24 hours. Shake frequently during the period to ensure proper blending of ingredients.
You can also place the e liquid container in a paper bag then seal it. Place this bag inside another bag and run through a continuous hot water steam with cover for about 5 minutes. Afterward, remove from the steamer and shake.
Steeping usually works well with tobacco-flavored e-liquids whose steeping period is about 7-10 days.
